Uncle Dana has spoken.
Every fighter on the UFC roster wants to be part of UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden.
Both Conor McGregor and Tyron Woodley have spoken about stepping into the octagon at MSG, New York, later this year. Both could have belts to defend if they get there.
Dana White has given an exclusive interview with UFC.com and has laid out who he expects McGregor and Woodley, the welterweight champion, to fight next.
Next up for ‘The Notorious’, a featherweight title defence against interim champ Jose Aldo. White commented:
“I fully expect Conor to come back and defend his 145-pound title. I think that Nate Diaz feels his brother [Nick] should have the fight at 170, but Nick is not going to come back and fight for the title right away.”
With White adamant that Georges St-Pierre will not be returning to the UFC, it looks as if Woodley will have to fight the No.1 contender, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson. The UFC president said:
“There are other guys deserving of a title shot. Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson is going to fight for the 170-pound title and then we’ll see what happens with Nick and Nate.”
Nick Diaz vs. GSP anyone?
