Dana White and Conor McGregor drop biggest hint yet over UFC return

“We got Conor news coming up.”

Dana White has hinted that a Conor McGregor fight announcement could be coming soon.

During an Instagram Live, the 55-year-old teased fight news for multiple fighters including Max Holloway, Charles Oliviera, Alexander Volkanovski and -most surprisingly – the MMA fighter from Crumlin.

Interestingly, Michael Chandler was another name mentioned, suggesting that the fight between the former opposing Ultimate Fighter coaches could finally go ahead after it was cancelled earlier this year.

McGregor was due to face Chandler on June 29 in Las Vegas but the fight was called off weeks before after sustaining an injury.

The former featherweight and lightweight champion hasn’t been in the octagon since his defeat to Dustin Poirier in 2021 and will be hoping to set his UFC record straight.

“We talked about Conor [McGregor] today,” White revealed on Instagram live.

“We got Conor news coming up.”

Shortly after, McGregor responded to the video with a winky face emoji.

UFC 310 is scheduled for December 7 and, as of yet, doesn’t have a headliner. A rescheduled McGregor versus Chandler bout would fill that gap nicely.

Chandler has maintained his determination to fight McGregor over the last couple of months.

Speaking on the Beat The Heat podcast, Chandler said: “I’m not gonna ever play the victim… with all due respect, I’m ready to put you (McGregor) behind me.

“I’m ready to put you flat on your back in the middle of an octagon… and I can walk out of that octagon and never have to think about you again.”
