Despite the loss of world champion Jose Aldo to the co-main event, UFC 189 is on course to be the biggest event – in terms of box offce – in the promotion’s history.
UFC president Dan White confirmed the seismic news ahead of the fight night in Las Vegas, where Conor McGregor will finish out the night with an interim title clash with Chad Mendes.
White has already revealed that UFC 189 would be its biggest event in the United States but it continues to bring in money and break records.

UFC 100, back in 2009, featured household names such as Georges St-Pierre and Brock Lesnar. It had a 10,671 attendance and took in $5.1m in pay-per-view money.
White also announced plans for a huge UFC 200 event in Vegas for July 2016.
UFC 200 will take place at the soon-to-be-completed MGM-AEG Arena. The 20,000-seater venue is located next to the existing MGM Grand.
