Corey Anderson – helluva guy.
The twelfth ranked UFC light heavyweight has done something very special for fellow Illinois fighter Trevor Ward.
Ward is set to compete on the 24th season of The Ultimate Fighter, the winner of which will walk directly into a title shot against reigning flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson or his upcoming challenger Henry Cejudo.

25-year-old Ward will compete against 15 other 125 lbers on the show for the chance to meet whoever holds the flyweight title at the finale in December.
Ward was struggling to get the funds together to pay for his flight to Las Vegas for the show tryouts.
But he found a saving grace in Anderson who, on Tuesday night, revealed that he was ‘paying it forward’ after his trip to the TUF 19 tryouts was paid for by Bobby Brents and Nick Renfro back in 2014.
Anderson went on to win the light heavyweight bracket of TUF 19 and has gone 5-1 since becoming an official UFC fighter.
Here’s hoping that Ward finds similar success.
