Any doubts over Conor McGregor’s ability to attract an audience were put to bed following the success of Fight Night 59
The headline bout at the “I can’t believe it’s not Dublin” event in Boston drew unprecedented viewing figures.
Over 2.75 million people watched Conor McGregor put on a demoralising beat down on Dennis Siver in the main event. That’s more than any UFC event televised on Fox sports 1 in the history of the channel.

It's clear now Conor McGregor is a massive draw. His card out drew Chael vs. Shogun and Tito vs. Bonnar by a wide margin. #UFCBoston

Although it the network only launched in 2013, it had a number of highly rated events during its brief history.
UFC Boston bested UFC Fight Night 26 in 2013.The card which was headlined by a light heavyweight bout between legendary fighters Chael Sonnen and Mauricio Shogun Rua pulled in 1.9 million viewers.
Coincidentally, McGregor also appeared on that card. The Irish UFC superstar defeated hot prospect Max Holloway on the prelims via unanimous decision.
Fight Night 59 also had more viewers than Bellator 131, headlined by Tito Ortiz v Stephan Bonnar. The event was the highest rated cable fight in 2014, drawing 1.2 million viewers.
Congratulations to @FOXSports1 and the @UFC for the record breaking viewership on last nights show. It was my pleasure. #UFConFOX
