We wouldn't hold our breath for a rematch between Conor McGregor and Diego Brandao but the Brazilian is certainly pushing for it.
McGregor beat Brandao in the first round of the main event of UFC Dublin last July but Brandao has gone 2-0 since that fight and is angling for another shot at
The Notorious.
The TUF 14 winner beat Katsunori Kikuno in a swarming performance at UFC Japan in a bout that lasted just 28 seconds and after the fight, Brandao called out McGregor.
"We trained essentially nine months for this fight because of injuries and fights falling through, so it was good to finally get in there and get the win," Brandao said, as quoted by
MMAJunkie.
"I want to thank my opponent for getting in there with me today. I’ll take another fight and let (Jose) Aldo knock out (Conor) McGregor, and then I’ll get my hands on him a second time – and I promise it won’t be a repeat of the first time."
And it didn't take long for the Dubliner to respond to the comments as he took to Twitter to deliver a succinct and vague, but clear, message to Brandao.
