A week is a long time in MMA.
UFC fans who were worried that the biggest event in the history’s promotion would not feature Conor McGregor can breathe easily again.
The UFC featherweight champion retired last week, then unretired, then was told on Friday he wasn’t going to fight Nate Diaz on July 9th, and once again the scenario has changed this morning.
Dana White was very firm on Friday night at the first major UFC 200 presser than McGregor could not take part if he did not fulfil the basic, in the UFC’s eyes, promotional duties.
However, this morning the Dubliner claimed that he will indeed fight at UFC 200.
Happy to announce that I am BACK on UFC 200!
Shout out to @danawhite and @lorenzofertitta on getting this one done for the fans. #Respect— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 25, 2016
There has no been confirmation as of yet from Dana White or the UFC, but we’ll take the Irishman’s word for it so far.
