Conor McGregor has revealed how he thinks 2015 will play out for him, and it’s quite detailed.
“The Notorious” said in his the first of his exclusive video diaries for SportsJOE, that he foresees a title fight between he and champion Jose Aldo being scheduled for 2015 in either Croke Park or the Aviva Stadium.
But the Irish featherweight sensation also believes that Jose Aldo (25-1) will withdraw from the bout which will leave the door open for perpetual contender Frankie Edgar (18-4-1) to step in.
McGregor said: “If I’m being honest I can see a fight between myself and Jose being scheduled for a stadium, either Croke Park or the Aviva Stadium but then I could see Jose pulling [out].
“But I could see Frankie stepping in.”
Depending on whether or not the foreseen Aldo withdrawal is due to injury or not, McGregor v Edgar could actually end up being for the interim featherweight strap in Ireland, with the undisputed title fight scheduled for Brazil towards the end of the year.
At this stage, this is all speculation and conjecture but one thing of which McGregor is sure is that he will “bring that world title back to SportsJOE.ie.”
