Conor McGregor will not fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 after withdrawing from the bout due to injury, Dana White announced on Thursday.
McGregor was due to face Chandler at the event on June 29 in Las Vegas. White, the UFC CEO, has said that the Irish fighter, 35, is out of the event after sustaining an injury.
The nature of McGregor’s injury has not been disclosed.
“Conor McGregor is out of UFC 303 with an injury,” White said on X. “It has been a crazy week here at UFC.”
UFC 303 will still go ahead with a new main event – light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will face Jiri Prochazka. Chandler will no longer take part in the event.
McGregor has not fought in the UFC since breaking his leg in July 2021.
