The more he keeps saying it, the more we’re starting to believe Conor McGregor is set to become perhaps the most lavishly paid UFC fighter ever.
There was a lot of guffawing and rolling of eyes when McGregor announced on the 300th episode of the MMA Hour that he was in talks with the UFC over a huge new contract.
The Notorious made the audacious claim that the contract would be worth at least $100 million, which he saw as only fair as he expects his upcoming fight with Jose Aldo at UFC 194 alone to bring in that much revenue for the promotion.
“Now the contract I’m talking about is nine-figures. NINE FIGURES I’m talking. Nobody in the game has got nine figures. I’m talking 100 million plus. So that’s where I’m at and I’ve done it the way I’ve done it.”
After going quiet about contract negotiations for the last number of weeks, (in fairness, he’s a busy, busy man) he has announced on Instagram that he will be leaving Ireland for the States on Monday to sign his new UFC contract.
And his initial projection for it’s valuation hasn’t really changed all that much.
