“Not a scratch on you, brother!”
Five days out from their scheduled re-appearance at Brooklyn Criminal Court, Conor McGregor and Cian Cowley were at Belfast’s SSE Arena.
McGregor was in attendance at Brave 13 to cheer on his Straight Blast Gym stablemate as he took on Daniel Olejniczak.
Cowley and McGregor are due in court on June 14 to face charges stemming from their alleged roles in the bus attack at the Barclays Center, in April, that left UFC fighters and staff injured.
If that trip to the United States was weighing on Cowley’s mind, it did not look like it once he got motoring against Olejniczak. The SBG welterweight shipped some damage after receiving a knee to his gut but he dominated his Polish opponent and finished him via grounded elbows in the very first round.
That TKO victory was Cowley’s first win in professional MMA and McGregor was on hand, in his dressing room, to help him celebrate. Cowley was surprised by ‘The Notorious’ as he walked into his dressing room, followed by an army of cameramen. McGregor declared:
“Well done, ya boy-ya!
“Not a scratch on ya. Not a scratch!”
McGregor congratulated Cowley again before embracing his coaching staff.
He posted up this picture [below] with the victorious Cowley and told him ‘the jet leaves Tuesday’ for the USA.

A jubilant start to what will be an interesting week in the lives of both McGregor and Cowley.
