Conor McGregor admits he’d be thrown on his head in a grappling contest with Ronda Rousey

Hard to argue with him

Conor McGregor isn’t known for conceding that he’d be dominated in any area of the fight game.

Being one of the most confident fighters in the world, The Notorious isn’t one for giving other fighters an advantage but Ronda Rousey is an anomaly.

McGregor has admitted that he wouldn’t want to grapple with the Olympic judoka who’s finished 9 of her 11 pro MMA fights via submission.

“I would certainly not like to end up in a tie-up with Ms. Rousey,” McGregor told Sports Illustrated.

“I remember one time when I greeted her and said ‘what’s up, champ?’ and we embraced, and I swear on my life that her back muscles were the most solid back muscles I’ve ever felt in my life.

“I thought ‘if this lady was to get a hold of me, she would throw me on my head in literally one second flat,’ so I would not like to engage in a clinch fight with Ronda.”

But never one to give praise without finishing off with a little bit of self-promotion, the Dubliner finished his thought by claiming that he’d figure out a way to beat the UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

“But make no mistake about it,” McGregor assured. “I have my ways to win that fight too.”
