Fans of Chris Weidman will have to wait a little longer to see the middleweight champion defend his belt against Vitor Belfort.
Weidman (12-0) has withdrawn from the main event of next month’s UFC 184 with a rib injury sustained in training.
Beyond disappointed, I was feeling amazing! Thanks to all my fans and supporters. I will be back to defend my belt soon.

This is not the first time that Weidman v Belfort has been delayed as the fight had been slated for UFC 181 in December before the undefeated Weidman broke his hand which pushed the fight back two months.
And it now seems, with his latest injury, that we won’t see the New Yorker defend his belt for the third time until April or May.
The February 28th card will now be headlined by a women’s bantamweight title fight between Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano.
