Cher to Diaz, “I got you, babe”.
Nick Diaz has gotten support from hands down the least likeliest source, except for maybe the NSAC themselves, following his five-year ban from MMA.
The former Strikeforce champion and UFC welterweight received the ban and a $165,000 fine for failing a post-fight drug test due to marijuana use after his super-fight with Anderson Silva.
The MMA community was outraged at the NSAC’s harsh punishment of banning Diaz for five-years because he will be 36 when the ban will end, which means that it has essentially ended his MMA career.
Cher, inexplicably, tweeted a link to a White House petition to get the NSAC to lift Diaz’s ban on Monday.

Nobody really knows why Cher did this, but considering she has 2.85 million followers, most MMA fans won’t really care.
At the time of writing, the petition is about 32,000 signatures short of its target of 100,000.
