Guess who’s back… Back again… Guess who’s back… With no friends.
The hateably ill-informed and deplorably obnoxious epitome of MMA bandwagon-jumping is right back at it.
You may remember the last time we heard from ol’ @Buckley_1986.
It was December. He had made it to Las Vegas for UFC 194. He got the shit kicked out of him.
But it seems, now more than ever, that Charlie Buckley won’t piss off and here is what he’s been up to over the last three months. Word of warning… it’s not for the easily infuriated.
Can’t wait for the fight on Saturday night. We’re going to see a masterclass in movement that hasn’t been seen since the Chuck Liddell days.
Dominic Cruise is going to switch up his stance against TJ Dillashaw. What this means is that he will move between orthodox and unorthodox. An orthodox fighter is always right-handed and an unorthodox fighter is always left-handed.
Cruise will also stay light on his feet. He does that because that way he can jump over any leg kicks that Dillashaw throws.
Dillashaw will use quite a lot of in and out movement which is done to show the judges that you’re just as capable fighting going forwards as you are going backwards.
What I really love about both Cruise and Dillashaw is how often they move in the octagon. More often than not, they’re just moving for the sake of it but they will shift their feet in order to drag the bout into a slugfest, making it less technical but just as enjoyable.
Cruise is coming back from a knee injury so I anticipate him pulling guard (to the uninformed this is when a fighter drags his opponent down to the ground game which is called Brazilian Jiu Jitsu).
Dillashaw is too good a wrestler to have this happen and he fights long really well. I’m predicting a Dillashaw victory.

“Be like water,” so said Bruce Lee in one of his most famous interviews.
I’d tend to agree with Mr. Lee on that but with one important condition, that you are water in wave form.
Movement is essential. If you buy a bottle of River Rock, the liquid inside is still – like a fighter in a slumber.
We need to see fighters wake from their slumber and start crashing into their opponents as waves.
Bruce Lee probably said his famous quote back in the 1970s but I feel I’ve made the necessary adjustments to improve it for a modern audience.
Having said that. Wonder boy via decision.

Just a random blog entry this week guys because no fights tonight but something just came to me as I was in the park today meditating.
A girl, no more than nine years old, shot past me on roller blades. And then it hit me.
Why on earth isn’t every professional MMA artist using these instruments of glide technology?
Think about it! Fighters want to move in and out quickly, want to be able to spin at a moment’s notice and they want strong calves.
2015 was the year of balance beams. 2016 will be the year that rollerblading returns. Mark my words.

Namaste, readers. Today I’d like to walk you through (lol, no pun intended) a foot-strengthening exercise because so many athletes, not just fighters have really weak feet.
It’s really simple and easy to do because presumably everyone has stairs in their house or apartment building.
What you do is this. Start at the bottom step and rather than place the whole of your foot on it, only go as far as the ball of your foot I.E. just place your toes and a little bit of the sole of your foot on the edge of the step.
Hold that for five seconds.
Then carry on up the stairs with five seconds of that on each step.
When you get to the top, turn around.
On the way down, do something similar but just rest your heels on each step rather than your toes.
At the end of the stairs, your workout is complete. Congratulations, your feet are stronger!

What is it with Brazilians and sparring and why does Conor McGregor keep on having to suffer?
I’ve said, for my many years in the fight game, that fighters should NOT be sparring the month before their fights.
They should be balancing on stuff, dancing, stretching, even getting intimate with a loved one.
Limbering up! That’s what fighters should be doing towards the end of their fight camps.
Rafael dos Anjos has broken his stupid foot and luckily I didn’t book a ticket to Las Vegas this time because of my issues last time around.
But I still can’t help but feel that he, and all Brazilians, should be reading this because I’m here to say that sparring is for idiots.
One-footed skipping. Now that’s for the smart man.
