Chad Mendes has been suspended by Usada until 2018 after failing a drug test.
Mendes tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug in an out-of-competition sample, Usada announced Wednesday.
The banned substance GHRP-6, a growth-hormone releasing peptide was found in the the three-time UFC title contender’s system.
The 31-year-old will not be able to return to the Octagon until June 10 2018, the date which his provisional suspension for the initial potential violation had started.

The Team Alpha Male stand-out appeared to already know that h was facing a heavy punishment after he was first flagged. Mendes explained on Twitter that he hadn’t done his research, presumably on a supplement, and that he would take responsibility for the error.
