The banned substances Jon Jones tested positive for were exactly what everyone suspected

Chael knows...

There was a reason why Joe Rogan brought Chael Sonnen on his first podcast following UFC 200.

The American Gangster may get a lot of stick for his tendency to speak his wonderfully unfiltered mind, but you’ve got to hand it to him, he was on the money when it came to Jon Jones’ Usada violation.

Jones was booted off of UFC 200’s main event when it emerged that he failed a pre-fight drug test before the landmark card. Bones held a press conference the day after the news broke, apologised to the fans and his scheduled opponent Daniel Cormier, but failed to mention the exact substance he was pooped for.

Then Chael Sonnen made an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience and dropped some truth bombs.

Sonnen very nonchalantly claimed that Jones tested positive for two oestregen blockers, before proudly exclaiming,  “Aren’t we creating some news?”

Low-and-behold, ESPN got access to the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s complaint and it was confirmed that on June 16 Jones tested positive for clomiphene, a banned anti-oestrogenic substance, and ‘traces of letrozole, an aromatase inhibitor, which works to prevent the synthesis of androgens such as testosterone into oestrogen’.

The Nevada district attorney’s office informed the NSAC of a potential hearing date which is set for around September or October. Should he be found guilty, he faces the possibility of a two-year suspension from the sport, which UFC commentator Jon Anik believes could cost him up to $30 million dollars.
