Bad news for fans of Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, he’s been replaced by an ice hockey player

Rampage is off the UFC 186 card

Fight fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see the former UFC ligh heavyweight champ’s promotional return.

Jackson was scheduled to throw down against Fabio Maldonado in the co-main event at UFC 186, but he has been forced to withdraw from the bout.

A court injunction from his legal dispute with Bellator has prevented Quinton Jackson from competing at UFC 186, and the UFC have really scraped the bottom of the barrel to find a replacement.

Steve Bosse will be stepping in for Rampage in the bout, and you’d be forgiven for not recognising the name. Bosse is a former hockey player and actually retired from MMA not long after signing for the UFC back in 2014.

However, the 33-year-old does has an impressive 10-1 record fighting mainly on the regional Canadian circuit and holds wins over UFC vets such as Wes Sim, Houston Alexander and Marvin Eastman. He comes back out of retirement to face the Brazilian.

It hasn’t been announced yet, but considering the lack of drawing power from both fighters it’s safe to say that Bosse vs Maldonado will not be the co-main event for UFC 186.
