There were a lot of eyes on the pre-fight press conference for Conor McGregor v Nate Diaz’s welterweight clash at UFC 196.
Conor McGregor has never tried to hide his love of numbers. The Notorious famously claimed to be the undisputed king of the numbers at the UFC GO BIG event i.e. having the highest PPV ratings, getting the biggest paydays and drawing the most attention to the sport.
Well so far it’s been hard to argue against McGregor being the “ruler of the numbers” in the UFC as he continues to thrust himself into that “face of the sport” position that has been vacated Ronda Rousey and Jon Jones.
The viewership for the UFC 196 press conference which featured McGregor and Diaz engaging in a verbal sparring match for the first time. Ratings for the live event peaked at over 360,000 on YouTube alone, and that’s not including the people who tuned in on Fight Pass.
