"Practice punching a little higher"

There’s a definite argument to be made that the raging rivalry between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier is the most tempestuous in the history of mixed martial arts.

The likes of Ortiz vs. Shamrock, Silva vs. Sonnen and Rousey vs. Tate have all enjoyed red-hot feuds but have stopped short of public brawling.

Each of the above three pairs of fighters have squared off on more than one occasion and rematches lend themselves perfectly to legendary rivalries.

Light heavyweight champion Cormier will get the chance to avenge his only professional MMA defeat when he faces off with Jones, the interim champ, in the main event of UFC 200.

The two best in the world at 205 lbs went five rounds in January 2015, with ‘Bones’ taking a unanimous decision but Cormier has insisted that he’s improved since their last meeting.

‘DC’ posted a short clip of some pad work on Friday night and, when Jones saw it, he quickly took a jab at his upcoming opponent, claiming he ought to be aiming a little higher if he plans on troubling the chin of the 6 ft 4 in Jones.

Cormier fired back, insisting that he would have no issue when it came to fight night.

‘Bones’ had the final word, claiming that Cormier was not a real martial artist.

We can’t bloody wait for this one.
