Robbie McNamara’s surgery reportedly went well, although the full extent of his injuries are unknown
His brother Andrew has reported he has has come out of surgery without any complications.
Robbie was involved in a very serious fall in Wexford on Friday which forced him out of riding Lord Windermere at the Aintree Grand National.
McNamara suffered multiple fractured ribs, a collapsed lung and bleeding into his chest, bleeding into his abdominal cavity and multiple fractured vertebrae with spinal trauma in the horrific incident.
He was initially taken to hospital in Wexford but was later transferred to the Mater Hospital. Andrew told At The Races: “Operation went well, no complications. In good form but full extent of injuries unknown.”
