WOW.
Rory McIlroy is feeling it. Yes, it just seems like it’s his day. After getting lucky with an approach to the fifth, his shot smashing off the face of the bunker but still ending up close to the pin, McIlroy proceeded to nearly ace the sixth and then produce a moment of sheer magic at eight.
Fortuitous magic, yes, but still magic.
After smashing his second effort to the par-5 just right of the green, McIlroy chipped in for eagle to send a shattering roar up through Augusta, surely sending shivers down the spine of his competitors on the fairways nearby.
Watch below.

Granted, the ball was travelling as it clattered into the flagstick and, had it not been there, he would have been left with a long, long birdie putt.
But, it seems as though things are going Rory’s way. It will be interesting to see how he finishes up but that eagle will have given him an enormous surge of momentum and adrenaline. Five under through eight. That’s some going.
