Rory’s dialled in.
It’s been a strong start to Rory McIlroy’s third round at The Masters. Having been five shots off Patrick Reed at the beginning of the day, the Northern Irishman has reduced the deficit to just two (at the time of writing).
The Holywood native picked up birdies at three and four before almost producing a moment for the ages at the sixth. His towering iron approach to the par-3 landed straight over the pin and seemed destined to roll back into the cup.
Somehow, it stayed above ground but the 28-year-old safely negotiated the putt to move to -7 before blootering a monstrous drive down the next hole. He’s looking good. Oh yes, he’s looking seriously good.
