What a performance by Shane Lowry.
The Offaly native has won the WGC Bridgestone Invitational tonight, his first tournament on the PGA Tour, and a cool $1,570,000 million to boot.
Lowry started the day two shots off the lead, after shooting a 66 yesterday at Firestone Country Club in Ohio, and steadily closed the gap on overnight leader Jim Furyk.
The 28 year old took the lead on the 9th, moving to 9 under, before pulling off this incredible approach shot on the 10th.
Shane Lowry, that shot is supposed to be impossible. #QuickHits http://t.co/QUc5o7GQv3

Lowry moved to 10 under on the 11th, as Bubba Watson closed in on the Irishman’s lead with a magnificent 35 yard birdie putt, his fourth in six holes, to move within one shot.
Watson dropped a shot on the 15th, but moved back to one off Lowry’s lead with a birdie on 17, which included this approach shot over a tree. The American golfer finished his round on 9 under, leaving Lowry two holes to play to try maintain his one shot lead.
That tree may have changed Bubba's club selection, but it didn't change the result. #QuickHits http://t.co/tNjRxRczQH

The Irishman held his nerve though, scoring par on the 17th and a birdie on the final hole, to finish 11 under.
What a show, Shane Lowry.
Congratulations to the WGC-Bridgestone winner. #QuickHits http://t.co/Qb7Z4jkiua
