Shane Lowry loves his GAA.
His father, Brendan, was a member of the Offaly side who denied Kerry a five in-a-row in 1982 and the golfer still has a key interest, not just in his native county, but in the championship in general.
Lowry was in contention to win his first major championship at Chambers Bay on Sunday in the US Open, and in order to keep loose, he indulged in some Munster hurling before his round.

Unfortunately, Lowry carded a one over par round to finish tied for ninth at level par, but he still left Chambers Bay with a check for a little over €200,000.
That should pay for his GAAGO subscription for the rest of his life, and maybe he could even spring for a laptop cable to get the games up on the big screen.
