We are guaranteed to get an absolute belter in round one of the hurling qualifiers

It's do or die for Cork and Wexford.

Will Slattery

Both Cork and Wexford came into this year’s hurling championship with big expectations but one team will have to start planning for 2016 very soon.

The meeting of Jimmy Barry Murphy’s men and Liam Dunne’s charges is the highlight of the first round hurling qualifier draw, which was made on Morning Ireland earlier today.

After beating Clare and Waterford in last year’s championship, Wexford will know how to approach the knockout game with Cork, who will be short on confidence after losing to the Deise in their last two competitive fixtures.

Dublin will look to bounce back from their annihilation against Galway when they visit Cheddar Plunkett’s Laois, while the last two games will see Clare host Offaly and Limerick travel to Westmeath.

In football, the draw was made for Round 2A of the qualifiers, and Cavan v Roscommon was the pick of the ties.

Here are the two qualifier draws in full:

All-Ireland hurling championship Round 1 qualifiers

Clare v Offaly

Laois v Dublin

Westmeath v Limerick

Wexford v Cork

All-Ireland football championship Round 2A qualifiers

Cavan v Roscommon

Clare v Longford

Antrim v Fermanagh

Offaly v Dublin/Kildare

The times and dates for the games have yet to be decided.
