Cometh the hour.
You may remember yesterday SportsJOE reporting on a Ballymun Kickham’s forward by the name of Paddy Small.
Small, brother of Dublin defender John Small shot the lights out in Parnell Park on Saturday night after scoring an impressive 1-6 from play.
And despite it not being broadcast on television like the doubleheader the night before that featured a Paul Mannion worldie goal and a Diarmuid Connolly worldie pass people still took notice.
The Dublin stars were plentiful over the weekend, they included:
- Dean Rock
- James McCarthy
- John Small
- Paul Mannion
- Cian O’Sullivan
- Diarmuid Connolly
- Con O’Callaghan
- Michael Fitzsimmons
But it was Paddy Small that shined the brightest with his impressive tally. and plenty of people took notice:
Masterclass from Paddy Small for Ballymun v Brigids. 1-6 all from play. Expect he'll make the O'Byrne Cup squad in the new year #TheToughest

Have been going to Dublin club games a lot the past 3/4 years and I can't understand how paddy small is not on the Dublin panel #quality

Well, the good people at Dublin GAA provided official highlights of the game and we got to see it all.
Small could take them off his left
He could take them off his rightÂ
He could bundle it into the back of the netÂ
Do it from crazy anglesÂ
And under heavy pressureÂ
Scrape over a loose ballÂ
And take his man on
Ballymun are going to need their new star man in the finest of form in a week and a half if they are to get over the stern test of Cian O’Sullivan’s Kilmacud Crokes, a side that could cause them a real scare.
Small’s side has not won the Dublin Senior Championship since 2012 but are currently favourites to dethrone St.Vincent’s, a team that has won three of the last four senior titles in Dublin with the help of Diarmuid Connolly.
