WATCH: RTE’s new hurling promo perfectly captures magic of All-Ireland final day

First Sunday in September

SportsJOE

It’s that time of the year again.

While the music rings out in Stradbally, the deafening war cries on the battlefield of Croke Park will be heard the length and breadth of the country as the country’s two best hurling tribes slug it out for Liam McCarthy.

The Premier County, the home of the Hayes Hotel, the birthplace of the GAA, will square off against a familiar foe in the form of the mighty Cats. Brian Cody will be hoping to claim an incredible 12th All-Ireland with Kilkenny, while Tipp will be praying that they can win their first championship since 2010.

To get everyone pumped for the big event, RTE have released a brilliant promo that really illustrates the atmosphere and drama of All-Ireland final day.

After giving this a gawk, you’ll be more excited for the game than those good folk who can’t quite wait until the end of Amhran na bhFiann to sound their enthusiasm for their county with their chosen war cry such as “Up Tipp!” and “Go on Kilkenny!” etc.

Huge All-Ireland final GAA Hour features an interview with Kilkenny manager Brian Cody. Subscribe here on iTunes.
