WATCH: Michael Murphy gets jocked as he says his goodbyes to the Clermont players

Not the parting gift he was expecting

Sean McMahon

The ultimate send off.

It was clear to see from the latest episode of The Toughest Trade that Michael Murphy thoroughly enjoyed his time at Clermont Auvergne.

The 27-year-old spent a week in southern France where he fully embraced himself into the world of French rugby culture.

Heavy gym sessions, copious amounts of steak and red wine…not a bad way to spend your week.

Viewers were taken aback by just how well Murphy adapted to the oval ball game, especially when it came to the gym work.

From awkward handshakes to goal kicking competitions with Morgan Parra, Murphy clearly left an impression on his temporary teammates.

The Donegal star’s penultimate piece of action was getting stuck into a full-contact match against a selection of the club’s academy players.

Finally, he took part in the team’s captains run on the eve of a match.

It was here where the players said their goodbyes to their new friend from the north-west.

Murphy received a Clermont jersey and then a kiss on each cheek from Morgan Parra.

Unfortunately for Murphy, after this touching moment, he gets jocked by Fritz Lee.

Lads.
