David Clifford may have just put in the performance of his life to help deliver St. Brendan’s Killarney their first Hogan Cup in almost a quarter of a century at Croke Park on Saturday afternoon.
Clifford scored 2-5 to instantly write himself into the Croker history books, his top-corner goal a sign of the things to come for this brought young star from Kerry.

While chatting happily to Mícheál Ó Domhnaill, Clifford clearly didn’t expect the mischief that was going on behind him as a teammate crept up for the most schoolboy of pranks.
With April Fools’ Day clearly coarsing through his veins and the giddiness of victory in his heart, the rogue snatched down Clifford’s shorts which drew fits of laughter from both host and player.
Fair play to him for taking it in good humour.
