Brothers in arms

In a very small part of Waterford today the interest in the county’s hurling fortunes will probably be at it’s most intense.

Ballysaggert GAA club is the home of the three Bennett brothers, Stephen, Kieran and Shane, and ahead of today’s Croke Park adventure everyone in the hamlet will be hoping for a historic win.

Two of the three are getting ready for today’s semi final against Kilkenny, and before the game this short video shows how proud their parish is of their efforts, as well the hard work that goes in to becoming some of the best hurlers in the country.

For any club to have an inter county player on a senior panel is wonderful but to have a family produce three is marvellous.
And did we mention that the village has a pub, a church, a garage and just 35 players in the entire GAA club.
