News broke on Wednesday that former Mayo GAA star Aidan O’Shea had signed for Ej’s Sligo All-Stars, a National League Division One outfit of Basketball Ireland.
Although most people are used to seeing him on the GAA field, O’Shea has experience on the court having played for St. Declan’s and having a stint with Castlebar. He is set to follow in the footsteps of Ronan McGarrity and Liam McHale to become the third Mayo footballer to line out for the Sligo All-Stars team.
Sligo All-Stars are away to Dublin Lions on Sunday and they host Titans the following Saturday. O’Shea could make his debut in either match and although he hasn’t played competitively for over seven years, the footage of his first training session with the team suggest he’s raring to get back to the court.
