VINE: Limerick U21 hurler oozes class as he offers his winning jersey to young fan on TV

Just the thirteen points for the wing forward

The four-in-row-dream is over for Clare in the U21 hurling championship after losing to Limerick in Cusack Park tonight by 0-22 to 0-19 in the Munster final.

The game, as ever in this grade, was a wonderful example of hurling at its purest as both sides enjoyed the lead at various stages, and there was no mention of tactics.

The win ends Clare’s stranglehold on the Munster series over the last half-decade and wing-forward Ronan Lynch top scored with 0-13.

The Na Piarsaigh man – who’s rated as one of the best young hurlers in the country – was given the Laoch na hImirthe award.

He did his interview in Irish, which is always a good touch, and then as he accepted his award from Shane Crossan he offered the young lad his jersey.
