Dublin’s goal-heavy dismantling of Kildare, at Croke Park this afternoon, has, once again, sparked talk from the RTE pundits of a proper second tier championship.
Many leading figures in the game, including Joe Brolly and Jim McGuinness, want the league campaign to be linked with the All-Ireland and for a proper second tier competition to be extended into the summer months.
Brolly expanded on his theory in RTE’s Croker studios and declared that a reinvigorated championship should be named after former Kerry player and Westmeath boss Paídi Ó Sé.
