Henry Shefflin’s move into punditry was widely expected following his retirement in March and last week it was confirmed that the Kilkenny legend will be part of RTE’s coverage for the Championship season.
Some have wondered what Shefflin will add to the coverage, given that he hasn’t always been the most willing talker and, as he’s just retired, he may be reluctant to offer criticism of players he has played with so recently.
Speaking to The Sunday Game presenter Michael Lyster, Shefflin expands on what made him decide to go into punditry and how he intends to cope with the likelihood that he will have to analyse friends and former team-mates.
