VIDEO: Galway minor star hits 4-2 in an All-Ireland final – including a sub 5-minute hat-trick

Hot streak

Sometimes you just can’t miss.

Or so we’re told.

Former Galway minor star Dessie Conneely was on such a hot streak in Saturday’s Corn na Mac Léinn Cup final that, before half-time had even arrived, a point attempt dropped into the top corner for his FOURTH goal.

By that stage the Marino IE corner-forward had already struck for a 4-minute and 40-second hat-trick that must rank up there among the fastest three-goal salvos in Gaelic football history.

The teenager finished the game with 4-2 as the Dublin college beat Magee College in Belfast.

“They just started to come, one after another. I was just delighted with them”, says Conneely, who was on the Galway team that won last year’s Connacht minor championship.

Definitely one to keep an eye on in the future
