You won’t see many goals like this during the Championship
Okay, we know the All Star match is an exhibition and that the level of intensity is way, way below what you would get in most Gaelic football games played at any level but this goal by Bernard Brogan in Boston at the weekend is certainly something special.
The Dubliner beats one defender with a very cheeky punch over the top before laying the ball on a plate to Conor McManus on the edge of the small parallelogram. The Monaghan man decides that he will try and back-heel flick the ball past Paul Durcan in the net but the ball inadvertantly goes back across the goal where Brogan finishes it off in emphatic style.
It is certainly the most unusual ‘one-two’ goal we’ve ever seen in GAA.
For the record, Brogan’s 2013 side beat the 2014 team 10-7 to 5-5, with Brogan nabbing a hat-trick.
