The new Mayo management could do worse than having a look at Aidan O’Shea’s single handed demolition job on Ballintubber at the weekend.
O’Shea grabbed 2-1 of his sides total in the 4-7 to 1-12 win over the 2014 county champions, as they booked a place in the Mayo county senior final against Castlebar Mitchells.
O’Shea started with his usual number 11 on his back but was stationed at the edge of the square for much of the game as he caused the Balintubber defence numerous problems throughout the sixty minutes. in footage captured by Local Streaming.
It took just three minutes for O’Shea to cause panic among the defenders
Nine minutes into the second half and O’Shea did his best bulldozer impression as he stole a ball from the Ballintubber defence and was hauled to the ground for a successful penalty
It’s not the most cultured approach but it sure is effective and it shows that O’Shea as a full-forward is almost unstoppable if hen gets the right kind of ball.
His third goal even got him doing a little bit of a Kenny Dalglish with his celebration.
