This is how Tipperary’s sublime victory over Kilkenny played out on Twitter

What a performance

Darragh Murphy

For all Brian Cody’s talk of intensity, Kilkenny found themselves second best in that department as they were denied three-in-a-row by a tireless Tipperary side.

Tipperary are All-Ireland champions and, in case you missed a cracking final, here’s exactly how it played out.

There were some familiar faces in Croker.

And the food was definitely up to scratch.

The atmosphere was cracking and the sun was shining.

Then came the whistle.

Tipperary opened the scoring.

Before the champions got on the scoreboard with three unanswered points.

Some terrific points were made off the pitch too.

It wasn’t just the Irish who indulged themselves.

The scores only got better.

But sometimes it’s a big hit that most impresses.

At half time, it was Tipperary who enjoyed a slender advantage.

After trading points to start the second, an open goal presented itself to Kilkenny’s Kevin Kelly.

Those watching on Sky Sports were nothing short of baffled.

GOAL! BUBBLES! TIPP!

And then, all of a sudden, Tipp led by seven.

For about 30 seconds, it was all over.

But Richie Hogan couldn’t have responded more promptly.

Goalkeeper Eoin Murphy just about kept Kilkenny in it with a wonder save.

But the Tipp points kept raining down.

It was a monsoon.

And the Premier County deservedly raised the Liam MacCarthy after 70 minutes of absolute excellence.
