The internet had a Gooch-gasm as Kerry destroyed Kildare

Incredible

Kevin McGillicuddy

In 1979 there was the Miltown Massacre.

It was a masterclass for a Kerry team at the very zenith of their powers on their way to four-in-a-row of All-Ireland titles.

The current men who are wearing the green and gold may not be quite at that level, yet, but to score more goals than points in the second half today as they did in their de-construction of Kildare was noting short of devastating.

Kerry’s 7-16 to 0-10 win was one of their biggest ever winning margins in Croke Par,k and was achieved as the country barely got out of first gear.

The internet was agog at the performance as football fans couldn’t believe what they were witnessing.

The day started with a big change for Kerry

At half-time Kerry led by 0-10 to 0-3

The writing was on the wall early on but some still hoped

But others thought it was an XXX-rated performance

But when it was over it really was all over

Some were puzzled that Kildare had beaten Cork

Others thought their TV was broken

And then the post-mortem

And the best summation of the entire day at Croker
