This is what the GAA is all about.
Sort of.
Club football is the lifeblood of the organisation and junior B is the cells of that blood.
The GAA is an all-inclusive society. It’s a community. It doesn’t matter if you’re no good, if you haven’t played before or if you’re old or overweight, there’s a place for you in a GAA club and, if you really want to play, there’s a place for you on a junior B team.
Junior B hurling and football has provided us with some of the finest, most classically Irish moments down through the years and they just keep coming. So, as a new season dawns, here’s our favourite so far.
11. There’s a time and a place for handbags.
“We were playing a rough team who didn’t mind mixing it. At half time, no lies, our trainer turned to our full forward and said: ‘You’re you’re a fighter. You’re not a footballer.’ He then turns to the rest of us: ‘Lads, will ye pass the ball to him!'”

9. The score’s not important when you have such a good joke up your sleeve.

8. No such thing as a drinking ban.

4. Referee interrupts to kick a point.
3. We’ve all struggled to fill the team.
In Longford, Shroid Slashers had to resort to calling on 63-year-old Davy Ward to play corner forward to make up 13 players.
No bother to him.

2. When you’d rather take a Snapchat than watch the goals.
