St Kieran’s College: Ireland’s most prolific hurling nursery

Niall McIntyre

St Kieran’s College is a place like no other.

A breeding ground for many of the finest hurlers this country has ever seen, its 200-year-old walls are steeped in history, tradition and in success.

Seen as a nursery for Kilkenny hurling teams of the future, men like Eddie Keher, DJ Carey and Henry Shefflin all passed through the College Road rite of passage before going on to make names for themselves as some of the best hurlers this country has ever seen.

It is characters like these who inspire the students of today to chase their own little bits of success.

Discover here what it is about St Kieran’s College that separates it from the rest.
