The PSNI are investigating the attack on the club of Tyrone, and GAA legend Sean Cavanagh but do not belive the attack was sectarian in motive.
According to the BBC a window in the clubhouse was smashed and liquid was poured in which was then set alight.
The club chairman Peter McKearney belives at least three petrol-bombs were sued in the attempted arson,
“It’s caused extensive damage to the bottom of the property and smoke damage throughout.”
“There’s never been any trouble at this club in a long, long time – all through the Troubles there’s been no issues.”
