Report: Antrim U21’s fail to turn up for training ahead of All-Ireland semi final

Trouble up north

Kevin McGillicuddy

This is hard to believe

Firstly let’s state that this is just a report at this stage but if there is even an iota of truth to it then it is massively disappointing for everyone involved in Antrim GAA.

The county are just two weeks away from an All-Ireland U21 semi final with Wexford, but there appears to be a major breakdown between players and management in the lead up to the match.

According to the Irish News no Antrim players turned up for a training session on Monday just gone,

The news comes in the wake of Waterford native Kevin Ryan announcing this week that he was stepping down from his duties with the Antrim set up at senior and U21 level.

The county reached a first ever All-Ireland U21 final in 2013 where they lost to Clare after an historic win over Wexford in the last four while their semi final with the Leinster champions is scheduled for the 22nd of this month in Thurles
