Pic: Shane O’Donnell stars in the early contender for GAA pic of the year

Ouch. Just ouch.

Clare’s Shane O’Donnell got quite the belt yesterday.

The Clare full-forward was in sublime form yesterday despite coming out on the wrong side in yesterday’s relegation playoff, and scored a brilliant third minute goal, firing into an empty net after flicking the ball over Cats’ keeper Eoin Murphy.

However, afterwards, O’Donnell could be seen to be holding his nose, and looking in a lot of pain, and this tweet from Dublin footballer Jack McCaffrey shows exactly why, with a photo of the exact moment O’Donnell felt the full force of a hurley into the snot.

Incredibly, O’Donnell stayed on his feet to fire home, despite clearly being in some pain, and afterwards tweeted that his pretty face survived the incident.

We’ve been trying to find out who the photographer of the great shot is, so if you do let us know, as we think whoever got a shot this good needs to take the credit.
