Laois hurling fans are consoling themselves with cheesy singles tonight but everyone knows nothing compares to real cheddar.

Fans of the small ball from Ballybrittas to Portlaoise are feeling far from ‘grate’ after it was revealed this morning that Seamus Plunkett has stepped down as the county’s hurling boss.

It’s brielived that he stepped down because a number of high profile players were involved in a club game on Monday night, two weeks before their championship opener with Offaly.

Tonight they have turned to the power of Facebook to try and get their man back in the hotseat with over 600 likes so far today

We’re not sure if the man himself is on social media or of the Laois county board will take any notice but it’s worth a try by the very cheesed off Laois fans.
