Mayo team to face Roscommon has one minor surprise

An interesting selection from Rochford

Darragh Culhane

Can they get past Roscommon?

Mayo are masters at making the All-Ireland semi finals.

They have done it every year since 2011 but alas is this the year they finally win the Sam Maguire?

It’s not looking likely with the performances they have mustered up so far, a laboured win over Sligo followed by a loss to Galway and some really close scares against Cork and Derry (and a convincing win against Clare.)

The Cork game was a horror show in particular but Stephen Rochford has opted for an unchanged side with Paddy Durcan missing out on a starting spot.

Mayo

Durcan has grown into the Mayo side over the last couple of years so his exclusion for a second week in a row will leave a few people scratching their heads but will be replaced by Colm Boyle.

The team is as followed.

  1. David Clarke (Ballina Stephenites)
  2. Brendan Harrison (Aghamore)
  3. Ger Cafferkey (Ballina Stephenites)
  4. Keith Higgins (Ballyhaunis)
  5. Lee Keegan (Westport)
  6. Chris Barrett (Belmullet)
  7. Colm Boyle (Davitts)
  8. Seamus O’Shea (Breaffy)
  9. Tom Parsons (Charlestown)
  10. Kevin McLoughlin (Knockmore)
  11. Aidan O’Shea (Breaffy)
  12. Diarmuid O’Connor (Ballintubber)
  13. Conor Loftus (Crossmolina)
  14. Cillian O’Connor (Ballintubber, captain)
  15. Andy Moran (Ballaghaderreen)
