A one-woman scoring machine.

If the Mayo footballers are struggling to break down Sligo this afternoon, or fail to break into double figures in terms of points, then maybe they need to give one of their county women a call.

Cora Staunton has hit a rich vein of form recently, and following on from scoring 1-15 of Mayo’s total of 1-17 in last week’s Connacht final loss she went on the rampage in last night’s local club action.

The 33-year-old scored 9-12 as her club Carnacon went to town on their  unnamed opponents in a local league game.

The footballer, who has been one of the most recognized GAA players in the country for over a decade, has nine All-stars to her name as well as 4 Senior All Ireland titles and 15 Mayo County titles.
