You don’t know true joy until you see Marty Morrissey’s pal’s reaction to Roscommon winning Connacht

Not all heroes wear capes

Marty Morrissey’s mate knows what the GAA is all about.

There were few people more excited about Roscommon winning the senior football Connacht championship than Marty Morrissey’s friend Paddy Joe Burke.

In fact, there were few people throughout history who were more excited about anything than Paddy.

When the first caveman to discover fire saw the air ignite for the first time, he probably kept his cool a little better. Even Archimedes couldn’t have been that animated when he had his famous Eureka moment in the bath.

Maybe the only person to rival Paddy’s enthusiasm about anything was indeed Chris O’Dowd, who was across the Atlantic in California watching Roscommon score a memorable 2-15 to 012 victory over Galway to become the provincial champions.

Then again, the star of the IT Crowd isn’t quite Paddy Joe, who’s reaction to his county’s triumph was captured by commentator Marty Morrissey.

Fair warning, you might want to stick in a pair of headphones if you’re watching this video in a public place. We promise you it gets pretty loud.

We shudder to think how he would have reacted if the game was in any way close. He may have screamed himself unconscious.
