You can tell Wexford people to relax and they’ll ignore you.
You can tell them it is only February and they will point out they have just beaten two of their bogey teams.
You can tell them it is a long way to September and they’ll tell you to shut up and help them build this bonfire.
Davy Fitzgerald is building something special in Wexford. Last week, Lee Chin spoke on the GAA Hour about the importance of workrate and how going until the bitter end was what the former Clare and Waterford manager required on them.

On Sunday, in a foggy Salthill, Wexford twice battled back – first at the end of the first half, when they reeled off five unanswered points. Then in the final 15 minutes, as they turned a 3-12 to 0-15 deficit into a 1-21 to 3-13 win over Galway.
Wexford now need to beat Kerry, Offaly and Laois to secure promotion from Division 1B, which is just a short step from ending 21 years of hurt and reclaiming Liam McCarthy. Right?
Davy has four short words for anyone getting ahead of themselves.
Let’s. Chill. The. Beans.

Needless to say, supporters who may otherwise have been disappointed with the scant highlights of Wexford’s historic win, were delighted with Davy’s choice of words on RTÉ’s ‘League Sunday’.

'We've won 2 rounds of the league, lets chill the beans a small bit' says Davy! 😂💜💛 Fully agree, but momentum is a great thing!

We decided to give Davy a backing track for his new motto.
